I think it’s $11. Either that or $45. But I think $45 is from “We’re off the Gold Standard.”

$200. You’re old school: Off the Gold Standard was only in the 1936 edition.
I find it interesting that the game was developed and popularized during the Depression. One the one hand, it let people fantasize about getting rich and escaping their current troubles; but on the other I would think they wouldn’t appreciate being reminded of their poverty in the first place.
Also, in the UK version it looks like dollar amounts are converted directly to Pounds sterling. Twice as much money in play and twice as ritzy properties!

Gold Standard was $50, but it was discarded. Funny word there, dis[i]card[/i]ed.
