		<description>Lightroom and Aperture are oriented more toward whole-photo filtering, e.g. contrast/color/exposure stuff. PhotoShop is big on lassoing and editing of parts of the pic. Major difference there.

There&#039;s always SeaShore, which you&#039;ve probably already tried.

Pixelmator is really slick, but it seems oriented more toward funky filters, somewhat the opposite of the overall-adjustment done by Lightroom.</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve been (regrettably) just using iPhoto for a number of years.  I may give out a little search for something better myself in the coming days, when term papers stop trying to kill me.  Holler if you find a good solution before then.</description>
